CSI, Chicago PD Actor Archie Kao Visits with Santa Rosa PD Community Outreach

Actor/Producer Volunteers on behalf of nonprofit Homes 4 the Homeless with Sgt. Matt Crosbie

SANTA ROSA, California (June 2, 2023) – Actor/Producer Archie Kao volunteered for Santa Rosa law enforcement Community Outreach on behalf of Fulton, California nonprofit Homes 4 the Homeless recently.

Archie Kao is best known to American audiences for series regular roles on Chicago P.D., Power Rangers Lost Galaxy as well as long-running hit CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He first joined Homes 4 the Homeless as Advisory Board Member in 2021 in support of a pilot vocational youth training program helping vulnerable youth in the community learn construction skills building showers for those struggling with homelessness.

Archie believes in giving back because as a child his family endured tremendous hardship immigrating to the USA from Asia. The partnership was able to graduate 10 high school aged boys and girls and pay them summer wages for the program.

As a volunteer, Mr. Kao first joined SRPD Sergeant Matt Crosbie on patrol recently with their Community Outreach engaging those facing homelessness in Sonoma County. The two first joined forces in 2021 in support of a Vocational Training Partnership at the Sonoma County Probation Camp building modular showers for those facing homelessness.

A video from 2021 featuring Archie Kao and Matt Crosbie with the Vocational Youth Training Partnership is available on Supervisor James Gore’s YouTube Channel.  A full playlist on the program is available on Homes 4 the Homeless’ YouTube Channel. Thank you to volunteers Alma Delgado and Julian Ochoa for their video documentary of the Vocational Training Partnership as well as over 50 volunteers and businesses who participated, including Sonoma County Probation Camp, Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma/Marin, Sonoma County Department of Rehabilitation and Farrow Commercial Construction.

A modular shower built during the summer 2021 program was recently delivered to Homeless Action Sonoma for use with its Shelter Camp on Highway 12 near Agua Caliente.
