FULTON, California — Nonprofit housing developer Homes 4 the Homeless is proud to announce the appointment of Del Christensen as Executive Director.
Based in Fulton, California, Homes 4 the Homeless was established in 2018 to provide modular building solutions as an alternative that can meet the scale of homelessness across the country.
As Chief of Global Business Development for the Bay Area Council, overseeing the Council’s trade, investment, and academic efforts between China and California, Del was instrumental in reopening the California Trade Office in Shanghai. Del oversaw the Global operations of the China-California Office of Trade and Investment for the State of California from 2013-2020 and continues to serve on multiple social impact boards.
Following his passion for social impact initiatives Del is actively addressing two of the country’s most challenging epidemics, homelessness and addiction. As Executive Director of Homes 4 the Homeless, Del is leading efforts to provide housing villages that shelter the nation’s homeless population. In addition, he is helping to expand a program that provides vocational training for underserved youth and young adults building homes and shower/bathroom units for deployment to homeless encampments. He also serves as the Chief of Policy and Channel Development for Seekhaven Homes, a Silicon Valley startup that offers evidence-based outcomes of the opioid treatment continuum and homeless communities.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Del leading our team,” said Homes 4 the Homeless CEO Steve Schneider. “Del’s experience in global strategy with the Bay Area Council will be vital in capitalizing on our recent opportunities as well as the scaling to meet the rapidly growing problem of citizens living on the streets.”
Prior to joining the Bay Area Council, Del established a 20-year track record of extraordinary success in sales, business development, and team leadership working for several Fortune 500 companies.
