Homes 4 the Homeless is proud to have as a founding advisory board member Berkeley City Councilman Ben Bartlett. Bartlett has emerged as an important voice for police reform in the wake of George Floyd’s death and we support his efforts.
On June 6 Bartlett hosted a funeral march in Berkeley to bury racism and delivered an important address publicly announcing the City’s response to the protests in voting to permanently ban the use of tear gas, pepper spray and smoke grenades against protesters.
Councilmember Ben Bartlett agreed, announcing that the “era of militarism is over” and “the stakes are our freedom.”
