Vocational Training Program
The LIME Foundation, Homes 4 the Homeless, and VESSEL to Establish Vocational Training and Mini Factory for Affordable Housing in Northern California.
Strategic Partnership Aims to Tackle Homelessness and Create Job Opportunities for Underserved Youth.
The LIME Foundation, in collaboration with Homes 4 the Homeless and Guangdong VESSEL Cultural Tourism Development Ltd (VESSEL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a mini factory in Northern California. This groundbreaking partnership is set to provide vocational training programs and job opportunities for underserved youth while producing affordable, code-compliant housing.
The MOU details the creation of a mini factory for assembling VESSEL houses in Northern California. Under the guidance of Mr. Shuaibin Wang of VESSEL, the factory will be designed to ensure optimal efficiency and functionality. VESSEL will supply the necessary engineers and skilled personnel to establish the factory and train local individuals in the assembly process.
The partnership includes the development of vocational training programs aimed at equipping underserved youth with skills in housing assembly and construction. This initiative is expected to create significant job opportunities and contribute to addressing the affordable housing crisis in the region. The LIME Foundation will work closely with Homes 4 the Homeless to implement these programs, in collaboration with local educational institutions and community organizations.
The assembly facility will have the capacity to produce up to ten code-compliant VESSEL homes per month, providing hands-on training for participants and contributing to the local housing supply. Mr. Shuaibin Wang will oversee the factory’s planning and design, leveraging his expertise to ensure the project’s success.
The LIME Foundation will lead the operational management of the factory, with Letitia Hanke, Founder of the LIME Foundation, and her team handling logistics, staffing, and quality control to maintain high production standards. The Foundation will also spearhead fundraising efforts through public and private ventures, ensuring the project’s financial sustainability.

Construction, local youth were identified for this summer job opportunity and built two portable ADA bathroom and shower units for the homeless. This vocational program was designed to inspire careers in construction and benefit those youth most vulnerable in our community. The contractors taught the pilot curriculum including Cal/OSHA guidelines and multiple sub-trades in the construction field.
